Andrea earned his PhD in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Cambridge. He is affiliated to the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability in Hamburg. His research expertise is on the long-term study of human-environment interaction, integrating qualitative and quantitative modeling of complex socio-ecological systems.
Andrea is CEO of Platform anthropocene, a not-for-profit, collaborative and creative-commons internet portal incubated at IDRC. Platform anthropocene wishes to broaden the critical mass of people participating in debates and actions aimed at coping with climate change, feeding innovative mitigation, transformation and adaptation strategies.
